KIT Karlsruhe

Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) is one of the largest and most prestigious research and educational institutions in Germany, resulting from the merger of the University (Universität Karlsruhe (TH)) and research centre (Forschungszentrum Karlsruhe) Karlsruhe.
ATE company participates in the control and installation of two 231kW/.40000rpm turbo circulators. Turbo circulator is intended to use helium cooling in the experimental range (1.4 kg/s/82bar), which is designed to simulate the cooling of future thermonuclear reactor. The project also includes the control and diagnostics of S2M company’s magnetic bearing. The project was created in the PCS7 environment and has been implemented into the central project of user controlling the entire test circuit.
Turbo circulator control operates in PCS7 environment, but it is also possible an equivalent operation in local mode of Siemens MP277 operator panel.
Furthermore, the distribution boards were supplied and an auxiliary turbo helium circulator (16.5 kW, 76000rpm, 0.2 kg / s, 95 bar).has been developed
The 231kW turbo circulator  was supplied to the Italian ENEA Brasimone for research work.
